All recipes are for 2 servings unless noted. Oil is canola oil and salt is kosher salt.


Remon soruto / lemon salt

Flavored salt for tempura. It is especially good with firm green vegetables such as asparagus and broccoli (stems in particular).


1 tbsp salt
1/4 large lemon or 1/2 small lemon


In a small frying pan or shallow pot, put salt, zest and juice lemon.


Put on low to medium low heat, constantly stirring until salt is dry.

Remove from heat.
